Jaguars are the world's third largest cat after tigers and lions. They look like leopards but the Jaguars' spots are more complex and often have a dot in the center. The rosette markings on each Jaguar are unique. 

They can run at speeds up to 80 mph, but only for a short distance. Instead, they find jumping and pouncing as the preferred method for hunting. Jaguars don't avoid water. Instead, they have adapted to living swimming in rivers and lakes. 

Jaguars have the most powerful bite, more powerful than any other big cat. They have powerful jaws and sharp teeth. Consequently, they are highly efficient hunters who can kill with a single bite. Jaguars are the top cats in their kingdom with no natural predators, except the occasional anaconda. They hunt their prey by pouncing on them from tree branches and in the water. Jaguars have reflective eye tissue, which enables them to see extremely well in the dark. Therefore, hunting at night is their preferred method of operation.
