They have many of what are considered 'human-like' behavioral traits. The bond between a baboon mother and her child is extraordinary.

Because they habitually turn over stones in search of suitable food, it's pretty easy to identify where a troop has been foraging.

In the morning, their movement dispersal from the sleeping location is synchronized, and all leave together. Often, dispersal is started by a single baboon, and the other group members decide whether or not to follow. Chacma Baboons that are more involved with the group by spending more time with each other and assisting in grooming are more likely to be followed by the other baboons during the morning dispersal.

Baboons are known for their high level of intelligence and problem-solving abilities. Therefore they are a symbol of knowledge and wisdom. They live in large social groups with strong social bonds. As a result, Baboons symbolize social order and community.
